03 — Proof

What is measured, and what is not.

The hours and the setup time are catalog math at a stated volume. Production telemetry is not published yet, and nothing here pretends otherwise.

Catalog math

2 requested market briefs/month × 5h of search, source list, and write-up, minus ~1h remaining source check

Run telemetry

04 — What it does / 5 outputs

Compiles a sourced briefing on a market question from public web plus your GA and notes.

  • Sourced brief
  • URL/date list
  • gaps list

05 — One run

What one run takes in, and what it puts back.

No sandbox on this page yet. This is the real input and output contract from the record, not a demo recording.

In

  • Question or topic list
  • date window
  • optional GA property
  • notes Sheet
  • output channel

Out

  • Sourced brief
  • URL/date list
  • gaps list
  • optional GA comparison
  • draft Slack message

06 — How it works / 25 min setup

Three steps, then it is furniture.

  1. 01

Connect Google Analytics and Google Sheets

Scoped authorisation, revocable from your IdP or the dashboard.

  2. 02

    Point it at the work

Question or topic list, date window.

  3. 03

    It runs

Sourced brief — on a trigger or a schedule, 25 minutes after you start.

07 — Features / 7 listed

What is actually in the box.

  • Request queue in Slack or a Sheet; weekly topic list optional
  • Every figure requires a URL and a date; unsourced numbers are omitted, not guessed
  • Optional GA cut: your actual traffic/geo mix vs the story in the sources
  • “What we could not find” section — the useful part
  • Source list exported next to the brief; Deskbrief is not a citation graveyard
  • Will not quote a vendor landing page as if it were a study
  • Human send: it drafts, you post. It does not mail the board.

10 — The money

Your hours, your hourly cost.

Two numbers: the hours this product removes at the catalog's stated volume, and the cost of an hour, which only you know.

9

You type this one. We do not know what an hour costs you.

Recovered per month

$450

9 h × $50 an hour, before the credits a run spends.

Where the hours come from: 2 requested market briefs/month × 5h of search, source list, and write-up, minus ~1h remaining source check.

11 — Pricing

Buy it outright, or get it with a plan.

One-time

$3,900

  • Perpetual single-workspace license to this product’s logic, UI and connectors. Runs still spend credits.
  • Returns $1,560 as non-expiring credits at your tier’s rate.
  • Twelve months of updates and connector maintenance included.

Per run

400 credits

$8.00 a run at the Starter rate of $0.0200 per credit, less on every tier above it.

Credit class: heavy

Every run carries a published hard ceiling. A run that hits it stops and re-quotes instead of billing on.

12 — Security

Runs on nox.markets, acts in your tools.

A scoped OAuth token pulls only the objects the inputs above require, writes the outputs back to your system of record, and keeps the run payload for your workspace retention window. Revoke the token in your IdP or in the dashboard; connector secrets are deleted within 24 hours of a disconnect.

Run payloads are kept for your workspace retention window — 30 days by default on Starter and Growth, 90 on Scale and Enterprise, with zero retention available on Enterprise.

13 — Customers

Someone like you, running this.

14 — Detail

The long version, including what it will not do.

A “quick market check” before a product or board conversation is still a person with twenty tabs, three blog posts treated as facts, and a TAM figure that cannot be traced. The time is not the writing. It is finding a source that is not a vendor landing page, noticing the date on the stat, and writing the paragraph that says what you do *not* know. That work gets skipped, and the meeting runs on a number from 2022.

Deskbrief runs on a Slack or Sheet request (“what is public about X in this category, last 12 months”) and optionally on a weekly topic list. It pulls public web sources, your Google Analytics if you want “what we already see in our own traffic,” and notes you keep in Sheets. Every figure has a URL and a date. If it cannot source a TAM, it says so and leaves the cell blank. The brief is short: what is claimed, by whom, how old, and what is missing.

It does not buy Gartner, interview customers, or run a survey. It will not invent a market size to complete the template. If you already have an analyst who files sourced briefs, this is slower than they are. Buy it when the brief is still a panicked afternoon and the slide says “source: various.”

15 — Questions / 5 answered

Before you buy.

What does it need from me before it can run?

Question or topic list; date window; optional GA property; notes Sheet; output channel. Nothing else is collected for a run.

How long does setup take?

25 minutes. Runs on nox.markets, acts in your tools. You authorise Google Analytics, Google Sheets, Slack, Looker once.

What does it cost to own?

$3,900 once — band 3, Operator. Runs still spend credits. It is also included in the Starter plan at $290/mo — buying it outright is the way to keep it after a plan ends.

What does it hand back?

Sourced brief; URL/date list; gaps list; optional GA comparison; draft Slack message.

Where does the hours-saved number come from?

2 requested market briefs/month × 5h of search, source list, and write-up, minus ~1h remaining source check
