Credits and usage
How credits meter product runs: grants by tier, credit classes, overage, grace band, hard spend ceiling, circuit breaker, and the usage dashboard.
Work consumes credits. Customers never see a token, a model name, or a context window. Every product card shows credits per run and the USD equivalent at your tier.
Seats are unlimited. We charge for work done, not people watching.

Annual is presented as 2 months free, never as a percentage. Annual also adds +10% bonus credits (11,000 / 55,000 / 220,000). Quarterly prepay: 8% off, +5% credits. Monthly is month-to-month.
Trial: 14 days of growth, 25,000 credits, no card.
Rollover of unused included credits: up to 2× monthly grant on starter / growth / scale. Enterprise unused committed credits roll the full term.
Credit class
Each product publishes a credit class and a fixed credits_per_run (with a band and overflow on large jobs).

Class H and X publish a band and overflow, for example a contract review at 450 credits up to 40 pages, plus a per-page rate beyond, with a hard ceiling per run. Above the ceiling the run stops and re-quotes. No run can produce an unbounded charge.
credits_per_run may only decrease mid-term. Increases require renewal plus 60 days' notice.
BYOK on scale / enterprise bills at 0.35× credits. Dashboard BYOK is Not yet available in this build.
self-hosted licenses run on your keys and consume 0 credits.
One-time purchases and the credit bank
A one-time purchase is a perpetual, single-workspace license to that slug's logic, UI, and connectors. Runs still spend credits. You own the machine, not the electricity.
Credit-back: 40% of the one-time price returns as purchase credits that do not expire, valued at your tier's effective rate. Higher tier, more credits for the same purchase.
Members never pay list: 25% off one-time on out-of-tier products.
Upgrade bridge: 100% of one-time spend in the trailing 12 months credits against the first annual plan invoice, up to that invoice.
Purchased licenses and purchase credits survive churn. Tier inclusions do not.
Live paid purchase is Not yet available in this build (checkout waitlist). The rules above are the contract once payment is on.
Overage, in order
- Alerts at 50% / 80% / 100% of the monthly grant.
- Grace band: the first 10% over grant each month is free.
- Beyond grace, overage bills at the
tierrate, or draws from the credit bank first. - Hard spend ceiling ON by default at grant + 50%. Nothing else runs until an
owneroradminraises it. - 3× circuit breaker: an account past 3× grant in a month is paused pending a human conversation. That clause is in the contract.
Errors you will see:
- Hard spend ceiling reached (grant + 50%). Nothing else will run until an admin raises it. That is the feature.
- This account passed 3× its monthly grant. Runs are paused until we talk. That clause is in the contract, not only in this banner.
- This run hit its published credit ceiling ({n} credits). It stopped. Re-quote or split the input. It did not keep charging.
A silent overage bill is a bug. If you see one, treat it as an incident and send the request id on the invoice line to support.
Usage records
Product runtimes write append-only UsageEvent rows (org, product, metric, quantity, idempotencyKey). Duplicates of (orgId, idempotencyKey) are accepted as deduped, not as a second charge.
Admins read /dashboard/usage or GET /api/usage/summary. Hourly UsageAggregate rollups power the period view.
If a product defines usageMetric, ingested events must use that metric (422 unknown_metric). Events over unitCap are still recorded (warnings: ["unit_cap_exceeded"]); we do not drop the evidence.
time_saved_per_month on a catalog card is hours at a stated volume, not a measured customer result. Do not treat the usage dashboard as proof of hours recovered until you compare it to your volume.
Billing admin
owner, admin, and billing can view invoices at /dashboard/billing.
