Joining a workspace

For the person who was invited: open the invite, create an account or sign in, and land in the right workspace. Also what the invite page says when a link is expired or meant for another address.

3 min read

This page is for the person who received an invite. It also covers how an Owner or Admin sends one. Opening /signup instead of the invite link creates a separate workspace.

The invite

The email subject is {inviter} invited you to {workspace} on nox.markets. The message names the role and the expiry date. The link lasts 7 days.

When email is not set up on the server, the admin sends you the link directly. Treat it as private: Anyone who opens this link can create the account for {email} and join. Send it only to that person.

The invite page shows the workspace, the role, and Invite expires, plus Plans do not charge per seat, so accepting does not use up a license.

If you do not have an account yet

Use the Create your account form. The email is fixed: Set by the invite. To join with another address, ask the admin to invite that one. Enter your name and a password of at least 12 characters, then Create account and join. You land on the dashboard with You are in {workspace}.

No company name is asked for. This creates no new workspace and no trial of your own. A personal address such as Gmail works here when the invite was sent to it. When email is set up on the server, the address counts as confirmed.

Do not use Create account. That path creates a separate workspace with its own trial.

If the address already has an account, you see {email} already has a nox.markets account. Sign in with it to accept this invite. If you forgot the password, reset it from the sign-in page.

If you already have an account

Sign in to accept takes you to sign-in and back to the invite. Then Accept invite, then You are in {workspace}.

If email is set up on the server and your address is not confirmed, the page shows Confirm {email} before you join a workspace. Then open this invite link again. and Get a confirmation link.

If the invite page shows an error

This invite is expired or already used. Ask the admin to send another. covers an invite that expired after 7 days, was already used, was revoked, or was replaced by a newer invite. Ask the admin for Resend or New link.

This invite is for {email}. Sign in with that address. means you are signed in as someone else. Use Sign out, then open the link again. You are already signed in. Sign out first, then open the invite link again. is the same problem seen from the account form.

More than one workspace

After sign-in, you land in the workspace you used most recently. Switch workspaces with the workspace name at the top of the dashboard sidebar. On a phone, open the menu first.

For the admin who sends the invite

Only Owner and Admin can send invites. When email is set up on the server, a confirmed address is needed.

Press Invite someone, enter the email and a role, then Send invite. That shows Invite sent to {email}. When email is not set up, the control is Create invite link, which shows Invite created for {email}. plus Email is not set up on this server yet, so no invite email was sent. Copy the invite link and send it to the person yourself. The copy field is shown once.

If delivery fails: The invite email could not be sent just now. Copy the invite link and send it to the person yourself, or use Resend on the pending invite later. Resend (or New link when email is off) makes a new link, and the old one stops working: Invite sent to {email} again. The previous link no longer works. or New invite link for {email}. The previous link no longer works.

A workspace can have at most 50 pending invites and send at most 25 invites a day. Each address has one pending invite per workspace; inviting again replaces it. You may see {email} is already in this workspace., This workspace already has {n} invites waiting. Revoke the ones nobody needs, then send this one., or Too many requests in a short time. Wait {time}, then try again. If this blocks your work, email {support address}.

Plans do not charge per seat.
